About the Program
Volleyball is a fall sport that runs from August through late October. As part of the volleyball program, there are open gym practice sessions. Regular season practices are held 2-3 days each the week and consist of strength training, technical practice, and game play. Volleyball practices and home games are held in the ECS gym.

Note from Coach Sweeny
"Any girls who want to play and are committed to practicing with the team for the whole season are welcome to tryout for the ECS volleyball team. That being said, this year continues to be a building year. Some girls have played for ECS before, others will be brand new to the sport, and still others have played competitive club volleyball in the past. Although the skills vary, I encourage any girl (regardless of previous volleyball experience) to try out for the team. Volleyball is a great way to meet classmates and make new friends. Girls planning to try out should attend as many of the pre-season practices as possible. Go, Lady Eagles!"

Competition
The team competes in the NVIAC league and all of our games (typically 2-3 each week) are within or close to a 1 hour drive from ECS.

2022-2023 Season
Our very first volleyball season at Evergreen Christian School was a SMASHING success! After admission into the Northern Virginia Independent Athletic Conference (NVIAC), our Lady Eagles competed against other JV and Varsity teams in the league. After two months of competition (including one win against a local varsity team), the Lady Eagles were seeded seventh in the JV tournament and walked away as the second place champions! Coach Sweeny is incredibly proud of this team and grateful for their unwavering dedication and spectacular attitudes. Read more and view photos of the season.
