Accreditation Announcement
By Head of School Michael Dewey
It was at the Cottage House Meeting that we initially announced that our school had officially been granted full accreditation with the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS). That official notification came just hours before the meeting, so those who were able to attend were the first to hear this great news. If you have been reading the Eagle’s View on a regular basis, then you are aware of the significance of this achievement. This accreditation was granted without stipulations (meaning there were no changes needing to be made before taking effect), and extends through the year 2031.

At last year’s Cottage House Meeting, I announced that we had become a candidate for accreditation with MSA-CESS and were readying ourselves for an official site visit. We were informed by MSA-CESS that we had until 2026 to complete the process. We finished it in a year’s time. Just another indication that God’s hand has been on this school from the very beginning. “Faithful is he who calls, and he also will bring it to completion” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
Now that we are accredited, we are able to participate in statewide athletic tournaments. Just this week we hosted an onsite visit from the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association, the agency that facilitates state championship competition for private schools in Virginia, and have made formal application for membership.
Accreditation is already making a difference.
